Meredith Kercher trial: Amanda Knox's family 'very hopeful' of acquittal
The father of Amanda Knox has said that he is “very hopeful” that his daughter will be cleared of murdering the British student Meredith Kercher.

Curt Knox was speaking as the jury retired to consider its verdict at the end of the 11-month trial in Perugia, Italy, into the death of Miss Kercher.
Mr Knox, from Seattle, said: “We are very hopeful but we are trying to guard our hopes in case something goes wrong. If the verdict is based on what we have seen and heard in court we look forward to a verdict of innocent. We are trying to hold our optimism in check.”
Amanda Knox wore the same lime green jacket in which she had appeared at court on Thursday when she pleaded her innocence in the case, in which she is accused alongside her former Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito.
