Lester William Polsfuss - Les Paul MORREU II

Algumas homenagens:
The Edge, U2 guitarist

"A legend of the guitar and a true renaissance man, Les Paul disproves the cliche that you can only be famous for one thing.

"His legacy as a musician and inventor will live on and his influence on rock and roll will never be forgotten."

Brian Wilson, The Beach Boys

"Les Paul and Mary Ford were among my most favourite musicians in the 50s.

"He was the first guy to do multi guitar, multi track recording and that turned me on to guitars and stacking vocals for our records."

Slash, Guns ‘N’ Roses guitarist

"Les Paul was a shining example of how full one's life can be. He was so vibrant and full of positive energy.

“I'm honoured and humbled to have known and played with him over the years, he was an exceptionally brilliant man."

Joan Jett

"I, and everyone at Blackheart Records, mourn the passing of our dear friend, Les Paul.

"He was a genius inventor, musical innovator, and a wonderful person. Without the advances he pioneered, the recording sciences and the electric guitar would have been left years behind. I will miss him so much."

Billy Gibbons, ZZ Top

"Les Paul brought six strings to electricity and electricity to six strings. Les Paul was an innovator, a groundbreaker, a risk taker, a mentor and a friend.

"Try to imagine what we'd be doing if he hadn't come along and changed the world. There will always be more Les to come. That's certified."

Ace Frehley

"The music industry has lost a giant. I'm very saddened by the news of Les Paul's passing.

Dave Navarro, Jane's Addiction

"If you are a fan of modern music, you owe Les Paul an enormous thank you."

Jonathan Wingate, music journalist

Wingate spent more than three hours interviewing Les Paul nine months ago and told the BBC: "He was such a modest man, we will not see his like again.

"This is the most innovative and important musician, or one of them, of the 20th century. He was this pioneer of the guitar, he invented what became the coolest guitar of rock ‘n’ roll.

"I think it’s interesting how nothing’s bettered it, nothing else has come along, remember he made this thing out of a piece of railroad track."

Justin Hawkins, The Darkness and Hot Leg

"It really is the ultimate rock guitar," said former frontman of The Darkness.

Les Paul did a Justin Hawkins signature edition guitar - based on the Les Paul Custom - which had coral inlays and a black to silver burst on the front of it.

Hawkins revealed which Les Paul users he looked up to: "You’ve got your Jimmy Page, Jo Perry, Slash, Luke Morley from Thunder.

"I always used to think that every generation had a guitarist that played a white Les Paul, like the white Custom with the gold hardware. For me it was Luke Morley and after that there was James Dean Bradfield [Manic Street Preachers]."
